SOUTH NORWALK, Conn.--Sept. 3, 2004--Two executives of EDGAR® Online®, Inc. Adams, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, will participate in a panel discussion September 13th at the Financial Executives International Forum on Finance & Technology in Chicago. XBRL is an acronym for eXtensible Business Reporting Language. XBRL uses XML-based data tags to describe financial statements.

Adams said, "EDGAR Online revolutionized the process of analyzing public companies by using the Internet to make SEC filings available to anyone immediately and inexpensively. XBRL is the next revolution in the transmission of financial data from the companies that create to the people who need it."

The Forum on Finance and Technology (http://www.fei.org/events/conferences/CFIT04/agenda.cfm) is a two and a half day conference that brings together the nation's top financial and IT leaders.

Deborah Doane, Vice President of Product Marketing, will participate in a panel discussion September 28 at the InfoCommerce 2004 conference in Philadelphia. Doane will speak in a session titled, "Turning Open Standards into Dollars."

Doane said, "The open, royalty-free nature of XBRL encourages wide adoption which, in turn, provides opportunities for firms all along the business reporting supply chain. XBRL will affect the delivery of business financial reports in a way that a proprietary method could never approach."
