Senior Technical Product Manager

EDGAR Online is a leader in the business information industry specializing in the extraction, packaging and distribution of public company information contained in SEC filings. Continued growth has created a need for us to expand our technical staff to further enhance and support our ecommerce web-based environments, data processing systems and our suite of XBRL-based I-Metrix solutions.

This job will be performed in our Rockville, MD office.

This position will need to:

Coordinate with application developers in order to

• Discuss and refine requirements
• Set, monitor and maintain development schedules for I-Metrix related projects
• Plan future progress/testing of I-Metrix processing framework
• Create technical specs and work with I-Metrix dev team to implement

Coordinate with the Data Department in order to

• Evaluate data processing infrastructure in support of I-Metrix projects
• Assist in documenting functionality for training of resources
• Work with internal departments and any outsource partners to create the best processing environment.
• Discuss business requirements and translate those into technical specifications.
• Evaluate changes in processing applications to address data quality issues

Coordinate with the Product Groups in order to

• Evaluate Product Infrastructure.
• Work with Product to refine business requirements
• Keep a schedule of new functionality enhancements/priorities

Coordinate with the Operations Group in order to

• Manage and coordinate releases for the I-Metrix processing infrastructure.

Other

• Define and build requirements/plan for migrating legacy applications/data sources.
• Define and build requirements/plan for further data validation.
• Assist in the design of testing and QC environments for these solutions.

Required Skills

• The candidate should have a mix of technical and project management experience going back at least 5-7 years.

• Technical experience includes: using Microsoft's SQL Server, MS.NET Framework, Perl, MS Project, XML (X-Path, X-Query)

Desired Skills

• Background or knowledge of corporate finance
• Background or knowledge of EDGAR filings
• Background or knowledge of XBRL
• Background or experience in data processing

Related Microsoft certification a plus.

Education
A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university.
